Oakleigh Greek Orthodox College

Student Wellbeing

The Heads of Student Services deal with all student concerns. Parents should contact them if they wish to discuss any matters concerning their child’s wellbeing.

This College is committed to providing a supporting environment for all students and we have developed an all-embracing approach to student wellbeing.

We are adopting the restorative approach which is based on healing and repairing the harm done to people and relationships, rather than on punishing offenders. Students are encouraged to be accountable for their behaviour and take responsibility for their actions by making amends to those affected. Restorative Practices empowers young people to act in socially responsible ways.

The College has a Zero Tolerance to Bullying. The College works in partnership with parents because we believe it is a shared responsibility to provide a safe and happy environment. All reports of bullying are investigated and dealt with immediately and with discretion.

Our College prides itself in providing a christian, caring and safe environment. Our Orthodox values are embedded in our pastoral care programme. We have a close affiliation with our Parish Church and Priest, who provides spiritual nurturing to all our children.

The School Nurse is available to deal with daily mishaps or to provide care and expertise if there is a more serious health concern.

Onpsych provides a service to all our College students who have been identified by their teachers as requiring assistance with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
